The pride of a community is the overall development and growth of its young people: academically, athletically, spiritually and culturally. The Johnstown Concert Ballet was created for the following purposes:
•To encourage and to promote the development of area dancers who
are seriously interested in the art of classical ballet.
•To foster education programs for the training of students in the art
of classical ballet
•To stage classical and innovative ballets as a creative outlet for the
dancers of the Johnstown Concert Ballet.
The Johnstown Concert ballet has presented numerous performances in this area since 1966. Our repertoire includes The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Les Sylphides, Little Mermaid, Cinderella,Snow White,Hansel&Gretel,Coppelia and Alice in Wonderland.
The Johnstown Concert Ballet maintains affiliations with teachers, choreographers and dancers from major ballet companies and programs. Professional Soloists perform in our annual Nutcracker and other performances and master teachers present monthly workshops for our dancers.
We also participate in many community events among them in Johnstown are: the Bicentennial Celebration, the National Folk Fest and the centennial commemoration of the Johnstown Flood and the Johnstown Symphony Christmas concert.
Several of our alumni have achieved successful careers in ballet and theatre and our students have been awarded scholarships to prestigious dance programs.
